ANNUAL DAY

Annual Day forms an integral part of VHP Sanskrit school activities.  It is an occasion of celebration, felicitation, feast and festivity. This day motivates students to work on their talents, and it’s a platform to build their confidence. This is also an initiative to get the parents to be to be involved, as they can come and encourage the children on stage. And not just their own children, but also other children.

VHP Australia continuously works and tries to spread our culture traditions and also to keep the next generation in loop.

Historic First: Sanskrit Ramayana Premieres in Sydney, Australia

Sydney, Australia – 13 September 2025 – The young pupils of the VHP Sanskrit School in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia created history by presenting, in the classical language of Sanskrit, a complete staging of all six Kāṇḍas of the revered Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa. This unprecedented cultural milestone took place during the school’s anniversary celebrations at The Regency Function Centre, Sydney.

The performance was both a scholarly and artistic triumph, standing as a resplendent tribute to Bhārat’s timeless cultural and spiritual heritage. Rendered with authenticity, reverence, and youthful vigour, the staging exemplified how ancient traditions continue to inspire the younger generation, even on distant shores.

More than 200 students, all under the age of fifteen, participated with remarkable dedication and discipline. With admirable poise, they brought to life—entirely in Sanskrit—the six great Kāṇḍas of the Valmiki Ramayana:

  • Bāla Kāṇḍa – The divine origins and childhood of Bhagavān Rāma.
  • Ayodhyā Kāṇḍa – The moving tale of exile and filial duty.
  • Araṇya Kāṇḍa – The trials of forest life and the abduction of Sītā.
  • Kiṣhkindhā Kāṇḍa – The friendship with Sugrīva and the valour of Hanumān.
  • Sundara Kāṇḍa – Hanumān’s heroic journey to Laṅkā.
  • Yuddha Kāṇḍa – The climactic battle and the eternal triumph of dharma over adharma.

Each branch of the VHP Sanskrit School presented one Kāṇḍa, ensuring a complete and cohesive rendition of the text. Dedicated coordinators supervised script preparation and dialogues, while authentic costumes and traditional props added cultural grandeur to the performance.

The event also featured a proud moment of recognition: the New South Wales Department of Education, Government of Australia honoured outstanding achievers from community language schools. Seven students of the VHP Sanskrit School received prestigious awards:
